Message from the Genesee Staff Council

Dear University Staff,

As the University of Rochester monitors and responds to the rapidly changing COVID-19 outbreak, we are focused on ensuring that the Genesee Staff Council continues to work to fulfill its mission to facilitate active and direct communication between University staff and senior administration and to provide a forum for input and discussion of issues important to the staff and the University, especially during this global pandemic.

We know that this is a very difficult time. Even in the face of challenges, we remain steadfast in supporting each other. We share the same concerns for the health and well-being of our colleagues, our families, and our broader communities. Recognizing that these concerns cause stress and anxiety, the University has many services to assist. Please note the resources and support provided for non-Medical Center staff at the University.

Facilitating and maintaining lines of communication will be critical during this trying time, and it will be more important than ever that we stay informed and support each other. Please stay in touch and share your questions, thoughts, and concerns with the Council. You can share these with your Council representatives, or directly to the Staff Council email: gsc@allveer.com.

The Genesee Staff Council wishes to extend its appreciation and well-wishes to the members of the Medical Center staff – your dedication and compassion towards our community are inspiring to your colleagues across the University. The GSC wants to know about the bright spots staff are having during this unprecedented time in our University’s history as well as the challenges you may be facing.

In the spirit of the University’s motto, we will continue to be “Ever Better” together. We will get through this together. Meliora!

Stay safe, healthy and well,
